Magnetic powder
To carry out a magnetic particle crack test, µ-sized iron oxides are required, which are usually added to a carrier liquid, e.g. water or oil. This mixture is applied to the area to be tested during the test procedure and allows the finest hairline cracks to be detected. These magnetic powders are available in coloured and fluorescent versions.
